Ronaldo’s bet with Jorge Nuno Pinto on goals

In the last World Cup, Portugal faced defeat against Morocco in the quarterfinals, leading many to believe it might be the end of Cristiano Ronaldo’s international career. However, Ronaldo was not ready to give up so easily. He continued to play for the national team, not only participating but excelling in match after match.

After the World Cup, Ronaldo scored seven goals in six matches for Portugal, including a hat-trick against Slovakia in a 4-2 victory. With this win, Portugal secured their ticket to the 2024 European Championship.

Ronaldo’s two goals in the recent Slovakia match not only contributed to the team’s victory but also took his personal international career goal tally to 857 goals, with 125 of those being scored for Portugal. However, Ronaldo remains unsatisfied and aims to reach the milestone of 1,000 international goals, a challenge he has taken on personally.

Ronaldo has a wager with Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, the FC Porto president, regarding his pursuit of 1,000 international goals. He believes it’s a tough challenge but also a matter of personal determination and inspiration. To reach the 1,000-goal milestone, he needs to score 900 more goals, and he firmly believes that he can achieve this goal.

After helping Portugal win against Slovakia, Ronaldo expressed his delight at qualifying for the 2024 European Championship and his excitement about the upcoming competition. He thanked the Portuguese Football Federation and the fans who were present in the stadium for their support.

Ronaldo’s impact is not limited to the national team jersey. Even in the Saudi Pro League while playing for Al-Nassr, he has shown exceptional form, scoring 11 goals in 11 matches in the current season. There are also rumors of extending his contract with the club until 2027.

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to be a force in international and club football, constantly pushing his limits and setting new goals for himself.
