Another 30 Palestinians and 10 Israelis are free on the sixth day of the ceasefire

The ceasefire in Gaza entered its sixth day yesterday, Wednesday. On this day, Israel released an additional 30 Palestinian prisoners overnight. In return, the Palestinian militant group Hamas freed 10 Israelis.

The four-day ceasefire began in Gaza on November 24th, following the most intense Israeli military offensive in the past four months. After the initial ceasefire ended, both sides agreed to extend it by another two days after negotiations. Subsequently, another two-day ceasefire started on Tuesday.

The current ceasefire is set to expire on Wednesday. However, discussions to extend it further have already begun through the mediation of Qatar and Egypt. As of now, there is no information on the progress of these discussions.
