Government plans to dig 9 more wells in Bhola

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that the government has a plan to maximize the use of Bhola gas. At the same time, the use of gas will be ensured where there is a crisis in the power and industry sectors of the country.

For this, more gas exploration will be carried out in Bhola and a total of 18 wells with 9 more wells in future have been taken up.

He said these things in response to questions from journalists after visiting the Shahbazpur gas field in Borhanuddin, Bhola on Thursday (January 25).

The state minister said that the verification process is going on for setting up a fertilizer factory in Bhola. Bhola’s 300 million cubic feet (mmcf) of gas will be piped to Barisal and Patuakhali.

But before that, he announced gas connection to Bhola’s industrial sector.

He said that work is going on to connect residential and household services through meters in Bhola Municipal area.

At this time, Bhola-2 Constituency Member of Parliament Ali Azam Mukul and Fuel Secretary Nurul Amin, BAPECR Manager (Geological Department) and related ministry officials were present.

Later he visited 220 and 225 combined cycle power plants at Borhanuddin. The next one is Bhola Sadar Sundarban Gas Company Ltd. DRS inspection and CNG inspection. He is also scheduled to visit the Bhola North-1, Ilisha-1 wells and the proposed Bhola Process Plant area.
