He got 1 million dollars from the left lottery ticket

We often forget about money, letters, or hidden notes inside books. After a while, we may forget about them entirely. When we find that money inside the bookshelf while cleaning the house after many days, the joy doesn’t last. It feels like an unexpected bonus. And if we find a letter, it takes us back to beautiful memories from the past. However, if we come across a neglected lottery ticket while cleaning the house, it’s like winning a lottery in itself. And if that ticket turns out to be worth millions of dollars, then wow! This is exactly what happened in the state of Massachusetts, United States.

According to CNN, a few months ago, a passenger named Khalil Soosa from Medford bought a lottery ticket. The total prize money for that lottery was 1.5 million American dollars. Khalil called the Massachusetts Lottery and said that when he went to clean his house in Medford’s Salem Street, he found this ticket in a flower vase.

After the announcement of the lottery prize, it was revealed that he had won 1 million dollars. Before deducting taxes, he received a lump sum of around 600,000 American dollars. He informed the lottery authorities that he would give a portion of this money to a friend in financial crisis. He also pledged to donate some to a charitable organization.

Khalil had purchased the ticket from the Tonic Convenience Store on Salem Street in Medford. Now, the owner of this store has also received a bonus of 10,000 American dollars. Because Khalil bought the ‘winning’ ticket from him.

In the United States, news of winning a large amount of money in the lottery is often seen. Just a few days ago, a person in California won a lottery worth 1.73 billion dollars (more than 19 thousand crore Bangladeshi taka).

According to CNN, this amount is the second highest in the history of the lottery and the Powerball lottery game in the United States.
