Phuleswari Priyanandini’s ‘Memorial’ Exhibition

Windows come in many forms. Some reveal a blue sky, while others show a monotonous gray. Each window tells a unique story to the artist. Fuleshwari Prio Nandini, an artist, is currently exhibiting a collection named “Smritichitra” (Memory Paintings) at the Shilpangan Gallery in Lalmatia, the capital city. The exhibition started last Friday.

Fuleshwari Prio Nondini expressed that wherever life takes people, they live in the joyous aspects of their childhood. Born and raised in an environment where the most joyful aspect of childhood was freedom, despite the various complexities of the world, life was not bound by the rigidity of textbooks but was instead vibrant with creative joy. The artworks in the exhibition, such as “Ei Sob Bhalo Lage” (It all feels good), “Kobekar Kotha Sob” (All about Kobekar), or “Ekhaney Brishti Pore Baromash” (It’s raining here for twelve months), depict the resonance of those memories from the artist’s painted canvas.

Prio Nondini’s painted artworks were first exhibited on the inaugural day of the exhibition titled “Sajano Bagan” (Decorated Garden) on the first anniversary of her mother, Bhashkor, and freedom fighter Ferdausi Prio Bashini. Afterward, two more solo exhibitions of her painted artworks took place.

The ongoing exhibition “Smritichitra” is Prio Nondini’s third solo exhibition at the Shilpangan. The opening was conducted by renowned artist Biren Shome. Besides, special guests included actress Shampa Reza and journalist Ishtiak Reza.

The exhibition features 30 triangular artworks. The display will continue until December 15th, and the gallery at Shilpangan will remain open for visitors from 3 pm to 8 pm every day until then.
