Another earthquake hits Afghanistan

A powerful earthquake has struck Afghanistan again. Today, Wednesday, at 5:10 AM local time, this earthquake occurred in the western region of the country. On the Richter scale, its magnitude was 6.3.

Prior to this, on the last Saturday, a similar earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 struck the same area of the country.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has informed that the epicenter of today’s earthquake was 29 kilometers north of Herat city.

Following the earthquake on Saturday, several more powerful aftershocks occurred. The number of casualties in the earthquake has exceeded two thousand.
